Bike fitter
Trish Bratten
Hello,
I have a new bike, and am new to the area; does anyone know of a good bike fitter?

Previously I have used a physical therapist who specialized in bike fits, but now need someone local - does not need to be a PT, just good at their job!

Thanks in advance, look forward to riding soon.

Trish,

Voree Smith at Burlington Physical Therapy does bike fitting. He spoke at our annual meeting last year and comes highly recommended. Bike fitting is also available at Skagit Cycles in Burlington. Cody Santiago does the fitting there.

Good luck,

Dear Trish:
I have done a lot of bike fitting, but I’m social distancing, and I take it pretty seriously.
There is a physical therapist in Burlington who is a good bike fitter.  I’m not sure what his name is, but there can’t be that many physical therapists in Burlington who do it.
For free, you could send me a video of you riding past the camera in profile—not too far away—maybe you could ride in a circle and have someone pan with the camera.  You want to pedal briskly in the proper gear like you are trying to get someplace.  That would enable me to make helpful comments.  I’d also like to have you put the bicycle on flat ground and perch a level on whichever end of the saddle is higher, hold the level so that the bubble is centered and send me a still photo of that.  You don’t have to do this of course, but if you can’t get in-person assistance, I’m sure that I can be useful to you.

best wishes,

Ken Rasmussen
