The weather forecast looks great for Tues, so let's go ride on Lopez Island. We'll take the ferry that leaves at 10:05 am from Anacortes to Lopez Island on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025. You should be in line with your ticket at 9:45 am. We should arrive at Lopez around 11 am. Instead of my usual route to the south end for a picnic, we will ride into the village first for lunch. There is not too much open on Tuesday, but there is a good deli at the store that has sandwiches/burgers and there is a pizza food truck. The Islander Restaurant is also a possibility. You can also take a lunch along. Then we'll head out and explore the island for about 20 miles total. There will be hills! Return ferry leaves at 4:20 pm. Do check wsdot.wa.gov for any ferry cancellations that morning just in case.
