Events - Event View

This is a 12.6-mile loop gravel bike ride (1.5 to 2 hr’s ride time). The 1st mile is paved, then gravel to mile 8.6, then paved for the remainder. The gravel road is decent, but mile 2.5 thru 3.5 passes through a just completed clear cut. This section is rideable, but a little challenging due to the ruts in the road surface. Mile 2.5 to 4.0 is a consistent steep uphill grade of 6 to 11%. From mile 4.2 onward, it is mostly downhill to the end.

Meet at the parking lot that is located across from the old Lk Samish Fire Station. The address is 705 W Lake Samish Dr, Bellingham, WA 98229
Notes:
-Both e-bikes and people powered bikes are welcome. Have wide Tires to accommodate gravel
-Safe bike handling skills are a must
-Rider etiquette: Remember to be courteous to all (including any vehicles, and horseback riders). You represent the SBC, and we want to make a good impression. Smile and wave
-Safety: Wear a Helmet, don’t follow too closely the rider ahead of you
-Preparedness: Have a patch kit&pump, multi tool
