About this event
Let's meet up at the Seafarer's Memorial Park, https://maps.app.goo.gl/hiWpwimsjSgZ1QhK7 in Anacortes.
Then, let's take a relatively direct route to the Guemes Ferry Terminal.
IOW, no trip up to Cap Sante Park for a fantastic photo op and no countless corners to turn (regardless of how fun that is).
Just a nice easy mosey to the ferry, where, by the way no cash is accepted.
Go to your app store and download the Guemes Ferry App to your phone then purchase your ticket/s via the app. Slick and easy.
Or, purchase your ferry fare online https://gettix.getanchor.io/guemesislandferry/index.html or at the office dockside; cards & contactless only, no cash, but you've read that before.
Tuesday's ride will be shorter than some. This is a ride, not a race. Yes, there may be some faster riders who would like to pull ahead, but generally the pace of the larger body of riders will be in the 10-13mph range. No one, not a soul, will be left behind.
Riding on Guemes Island is very enjoyable, the traffic is light to very light, almost non-existent.
Preview and download the route here: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/44248321
Let's aim for the 10:45 ferry to Guemes, 1PM for return.
After our return to the larger island, we'll get a bite to eat at Gere-a Deli. A wonderful gathering spot for lunch.
Looking forward to seeing you on another one of Skagit Bicycle Club's Welcome Rides.
