This project was recently awarded to Cascade Bridge, LLC, for approximately $9,670,000 through a competitive bid process. Construction will begin approximately May 28, 2024, with the existing bridge closed to all traffic for about 15 months. A signed detour will be in place during construction. There will also be intermittent closures to boat traffic under the bridge. We expect the new bridge to open to traffic in late August 2025.

Please note that Samish Park will also be closed to the public during these 15 months for the contractor to use as a staging area.

I just heard that the Samish Lake bridge will close in late May so that it can be replaced. The closure will last until late 2025. Ride leaders should plan routes in the northern portion of our territory with this closure in mind.
