SBC Member RIDER ALERT Quick Notice

BERENTSON BRIDGE BIKE LANE SWEEP SATURDAY, APRIL ...
Author Last Post

Thanks to everyone who came out this morning to the bridge sweep! It's always surprising how much debris accumulates in a short time. Things look good now and we got a lot of "thank you's" from cyclists passing over today while we were in action.

A special shout out to the people who brought their wheelbarrows, string trimmers, blowers as well as their personal shovels and brooms.

I have some ideas for next time and would appreciate any suggestions on how we could make this a more efficient and effective project. Jacqui and I plan to sit down on Monday to see what we might do better and try to document the process that Steve Jahn passed on to us.

I'm glad the weather cooperated today and hope everyone felt they made a contribution to the community of cyclists in Skagit County.

A FEW MORE VOLUNTEERS STILL WELCOME!

As many hands make this event a fun social activity that is completed in about 1 1/2 hrs. The weather is looking favorable and the afternoon will be free for Earth Day events in the communities.

REGISTER AS A VOLUNTEER FOR THIS EVENT LIKE A BIKE RIDE on the website EVENT CALENDAR.

As an incentive and reward, there will be post-sweep home made snacks and coffee from Moka Joes.  Bring a lawn chair if you want to relax and “sit and be comfortable” while socializing afterward.

As always, you are welcome to bring a favorite broom or flat-blade shovel. However, SBC has a good number that will be provided. Work gloves are always a good idea.
