I am doing a night ride on the longest day of the year, welcoming
the Solstice and the saddest day of the year since
the days will begin to get shorter.
The ride will be off road on the Centennial Trail to minimize traffic.
The goal of the ride is not distance nor destination but to ride until
sunrise. We start in Snohomish and ride north at a social, safe pace.
We will ride steady and stop as often as we like. We will watch the
clock and ride as far north as needed, then return so as to reach the
starting point just after sunrise. We will start riding no later than
11:50 pm on Tuesday June 20. This ride extends until Wednesday June 21.
Sunrise is at 5:06 am so it will be getting light around 4:30.
There are many rides during the year, this one will not only be a ride
but an Adventure.
I am a former Randonneur rider and daily commuter and have done a lot
of night riding. Lights are necessary, reflective gear recommended.
Bring food and extra warm clothes.
Start point is 9th ST and Maple Ave in Snohomish.
Would be great to have others join in. I'm happy to answer any questions
or provide more information.
