It‘s looking like the weather will cooperate for a glorious ride around Lopez Island. I‘m going to take the 1035 ferry from Anacortes on Wed, 10/9 and will be camping at Odlin Co. Park for 2-3 nights, Wed-(possibly) Fri. Anyone is more than welcome to join me and camp for any of those nights. Of course you will need your own tent, sleeping bag, etc. I will have a stove if you want to make coffee in the morning, or cook dinner. Plans are to camp at the hiker/biker campsite up on the bluff.
I‘m going to be riding on Wed and Thurs, and possibly Friday, so, if you just want to join me for a day ride, please contact me so that I will know to be waiting for you at the entrance to Odlin. For clarity, I‘ve only posted the ride on Fri., but as mentioned, feel free to ride with me on Wed. or Thurs as well.
The ferries are limited, so the best one to catch is the 1035 which arrives at Lopez at 1125. That should give us plenty of time to get back for the 1700 ferry. Be sure to be at the ferry terminal with ticket in hand no later than 1015. Know that if you plan to ride on either Thurs. or Fri., you will be "leaderless" until you get to Lopez.
This is a social paced ride. Our speed will be between 12-14 mph (except on a few of those wicked downhills!). Hope that you can join me.
PS We will be stopping at the Barn Owl Bakery to stock up on pastries and savory goodies. If you have not had anything from there, you are in for a real treat!
